TOPOLOGY

Arrangement of device
-          Topology means arrangement of computers and device. We are having two types of topologies. They are
·         Physical Topology
·         Logical Topology

Physical Topology
-           Physical Topology means physical arrangement of computers or devices.
-          Physical Topology are
·         BUS
·         RING
·         STAR
·         TREE
·         MESH

Logical Topology
-          Logical topology means logical arrangements of computers and devices.
-          We are having two types of model in topopogicalies
They are: -
·         Workgroup Model or Peer – to Peer Model
·         Domain Model or Client/Server Model.

Workgroup Model
-          Workgroup Model also called as peer to peer model.
-          Workgroup model computers are individual computer are standalone computer.
-          Workgroup model computer does not depend on any other computers.
-          Workgroup model computer we can create local user accounts.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     
-          Workgroup model are local user accounts. We are using  SAM Database(Security Account Manager)

What is Active Directory?
-          Active Directory is a directory services which contains information of all user accounts and shared resources on a network.
-          Active Directory is a centralized hierarchical directory database.

Purpose of Active Directory
-          Provides user logon and authentication services using Kerberos Protocol
-          To Centralized and Decentralized the resources management
-          To centrally organized and manage (User Account, Computer, Groups, Network Resources)
-          Enable authorized user to easily locate network resources.
